to provide a world class gymnastics program that fosters a lifelong love of the sport of gymnastics for
individuals of every age and ability. Whether you have some gymnastic ability or past training, or you
are just discovering gymnastics as an adult, proper training is important! We understand that gymnastic
skills require an incredible amount of coordination, flexibility, and strength. Whether your aims are
improved general fitness or the ability to perform high level skills, we emphasize the foundations for
wise exercise practices through proper technique and safe progressions.

CLASS OPTIONS
If you are unsure of your level and best placement, please consider the following class descriptions, and
feel free to ask us questions. Please note if you choose to enroll into monthly enrollment, there are NO makeup classes.
Beginner/Returning Adult
This class is tailored toward students who do not have much gymnastics experience or are
returning to the sport after not having practiced for some time. This class focusses on promoting the
overall fitness, strength, and flexibility necessary to perform basic gymnastic skills. Most instruction
takes place on the Floor, with emphasis on stretching, developing upper body, core, and leg strength, as
well as learning basic tumbling skills. Use of apparatus is limited to conditioning exercises (examples:
pull ups, dips, leg lifts). There are no skill prerequisites to be in beginner class, though one should be in
reasonably good health. If you are unsure of your ability to participate in gymnastics training or have a
condition that may limit your training, please consult your physician.
Intermediate/Continuing Adult
This class is tailored toward students who have considerable experience in gymnastics from
childhood (either through regular recreational classes or competitive team) or who discovered
gymnastics later in life and have been training for some time. Students in this class have maintained
good health and fitness through regular exercise, participation in other sports, or moderate continued
gymnastics training. Emphasis is on tumbling, which may include moderate impact and jumping skills,
such as round-offs, handsprings, and somersaults. Use of apparatus involves basic skills that promote
kinesthetic awareness, strength, and muscle coordination
Safe and proper execution of the following skills is required for initial Intermediate level placement:
Handstand (momentary hold)-forward roll to stand
Bridge or L-hold (10 second hold)
Round-off rebound
Jump off springboard to handstand, flat-back onto 2 ft high mat
Pull over on low (chin height) horizontal bar
Cast above horizontal on horizontal Bar
Advanced/Athlete
This class is tailored to athletes who have extensive knowledge of gymnastics and best training
practices. Participants in this class have a presently high level of gymnastic ability and can engage in
moderate to intense exercise. Typical students in this class may have competitive gymnastics experience
or have competed at a high level in other related sports. Instruction in this class offers the opportunity
for individualized skill learning while promoting proper technique and working within one’s capabilities.
Safe and proper execution of the following skills is required for initial Advanced level placement:
Front Walkover or Front Handspring
Back Walkover or Back Handspring or Back Tuck
Handstand to Bridge or Press Handstand
Front Handspring over Vault or Front tuck from springboard
Back Hip Circle on horizontal bar or swing to Handstand on parallel bars
Kip, Squat-on, or Cast-Handstand on horizontal bar, or Muscle-Up on rings
