5280 Recreational Classes FAQ
Welcome to 5280 Gymnastics!
We can’t wait to start helping your kids build a foundation for life through a world-class sports program.
Please plan to arrive to the gym 10 minutes before your class start time. We’ll be there to welcome you.
What to bring and wear?
- Water Bottle. Please bring a water bottle for drink breaks. Less time at the fountain = more time in the gym!
- Athletic shorts, t-shirts, leotards — whatever your kid is comfortable in. Just avoid baggy clothes and make sure their bellies and backs are covered.
- Bare feet! Shoes and socks get in the way of our fun and learning, plus bare feet are safer in the gym.
- Long hair tied back, and no dangly jewelry.
How does billing work and how can I cancel my membership?
- Your first month’s tuition will be prorated based on the start date of your enrollment.
- After initial enrollment fees, tuition will be autopaid on the 1st of each month from your credit card on file.
- You’ll remain enrolled on a rolling basis unless you give a written 30-day drop notice.
- We don’t offer refunds for drops without the 30-day notice.
How do I pay?
- We need a credit card on file for all families.
- You can autopay tuition with your credit card, or pay for next month with cash or check by the 25th of the current month.
Do you have any sibling specials?
- You bet. Enroll one kid, then every sibling gets 10% off tuition as long as they’re both enrolled.
What is the annual fee?
- A $45 annual membership fee is due upon enrollment and is charged once per year as long as enrollment is active.
- If you take a break and return past your annual fee charge date, the fee will be charged upon re-enrollment.
- Max of $100 in annual fees per family (third child is $10).
What about holidays or school closures?
- There are no refunds, discounts, or pro-rates for gym holidays.
- Closures outside the gym’s control, such as weather, don’t constitute a makeup day.
- Closures within the gym’s control, such as competitive meets and events, DO constitute a makeup day.
- Notice of closures will be posted in the gym, on our website and social media, and emailed.
- We follow the Jefferson County Public School District Family Calendar for Closures and Holidays.
What holidays are you closed?
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Halloween
- Thanksgiving Break
- Holiday Break
How does enrollment work?
- We do not operate using sessions. We operate on a recurring billing cycle where you’re enrolled on a rolling basis from month to month and tuition auto drafts on the 1st of each month until you notify us with your 30 days drop notice.
- You may sign up to start class whenever you want in the year and we will prorate you based on when you start in the month.
How do I get on a waitlist?
- We require three kids on a waitlist before opening a class. If you’re interested in a pending class, join the waitlist by creating an account in our Member Portal.
- We’ll email you when a class opens or a spot on a waitlist becomes available. Please respond within 48 hours to confirm your spot.
Do you do birthday parties?
What about camps and clinics?
- We offer Camp-a-Palooza every day JeffCo is not in session. Action-packed days full of gymnastics, arts and crafts, games, and more.
- Special events are always in the works at 5280. Parents’ Night Out and Open Gym are favorites.
When will my child move up to the next level?
- Our coaches will regularly evaluate the kids in each class. Your child may be invited to move up to the next level when they become ready on all events.
- If you’d like to know what your child should work on to move up, our coaches are available to talk before or after class.
What if my child is interested in competitive gymnastics?
- We love to hear it! We’re proud to have multiple competitive team routes, including the Men’s and Women’s Development Program (DP) and the Girls’ Xcel program.
- DP is the traditional gymnastics route with levels 1–10 and is designed to build a solid foundation and help gymnasts safely advance to the highest level. Lower levels perform the same “compulsory” routines. Higher levels perform “optional” routines. This program is great for gymnasts looking to advance to the highest level. Many of our DP gymnasts receive NCAA scholarships!
- The Xcel Girls Program is a team designed to offer a broad-based, affordable competitive experience. It’s a great program for gymnasts who want more flexibility than the DP program offers or are busy with other sports and activities, but still want to compete. The program is offered at both our Wheat Ridge and Littleton gyms.
- We recommend that any child interested in joining one of our competitive teams enroll in more than one day of recreational classes a week.
- You’re also welcome to talk with your child’s coach and let them know your goals so you can achieve them together.
What is pre-team?
- Our girls’ pre-team programs are invitation only and designed to prepare young athletes to compete on our competitive teams. Classes focus on the importance of developing strength, flexibility, and a strong foundation of basic gymnastics technique that will help them excel in the sport.
How do I make up a class?
- It’s your responsibility to schedule a makeup class, and it’s quick and easy in the 5280 app. Download it now for easy management of your child’s schedule. Note: Makeup classes can be scheduled only AFTER the missed class.
- Each recreational child gets ONE makeup class per month per enrollment.
- If your child has been marked absent in our system 30 minutes after the class completion time, you’ll receive a token in your account to schedule your makeup class.
- Makeup tokens can only be used in the same level/class of enrollment, but on a different day with availability.
- Each makeup token is good for 30 days from the date of the absence, and the makeup class must fall within those 30 days.
- All makeup tokens automatically expire when you drop your gymnastics class.
- There are NO refunds, discounts, or pro-rates for missed classes.
If you can’t find the right class for your kid, we also offer open gym and 1x/month “makeup classes” that can be scheduled through our front desk by emailing info@5280gymnastics (Wheat Ridge gym) or southinfo@5280gymnastics.com (Littleton).
